As an Area Manager my day starts at 6.30am with a review of the sales and performance reports for Scotland, Carlisle and Dublin. My diary is usually planned 3 months ahead so I know exactly what I am doing unless it gets taken over. Typically I am visiting the cinema teams in my area, conducting operational excellence assessments and reviewing the Cinema Business Plan with the General Manager. This includes the team training plan and succession plans and an update on current vacancies and how well the team are delivering the results.
I joined Vue in 2008 and enjoy many things including the pace, the constant challenge and films of course but it is the people and culture of the business that is the key reason for why I enjoy working for Vue. I would say to anyone thinking of joining Vue – don’t hesitate. The cinema industry is fast paced, great fin and always evolving. It is in growth and not many businesses can say that.
