Cinema Training Framework

The Cinema Training Framework maps operational and management training for all levels and shows the modules that need to be completed to become knowledgeable and successful at Vue. Training_Framework_3.pdf
Level 1: Customer Assistants
Level 2: Team Leaders
Level 3: Managers
Level 4: General Manager

Level 1 Training was re-launched in 2014 and has been well received by new team members, Buddies and management teams.  Level 2 is currently under review and we hope to roll out the new modules to all Team Leaders by the Summer of 2015.

Much of the training and development happens on the job and through coaching with colleagues. This is complimented by classroom based training for some operational skills and knowledge and for development in people management skills.  All our training is underpinned by our competency model which details our expectations of how we interact with each other and what makes us successful as individuals and working as part of a team.  These include inspiring and leading teams, being friendly and helpful, owning what you do, making informed decisions, finding a better way and making things happen.  Cinemas_-_Competency_Framework_FINAL_2012.pdf

Each year Team Leaders, Managers and General Managers meet with their immediate line manager to review their performance and the objectives that have been set in their Performance Agreement.  The General Manager then creates a confidential Team Training Plan that captures the annual review ratings, succession planning ratings, development needs and potential development activity to be undertaken by the team.

Training is then planned for the Area and across the business.  Not all training needs can be met so Area Managers work with General Managers to prioritise the training that will support teams in meeting the cinema business plan goals and to ensure we have strong teams with people who feel capable and confident to do their role.

Customer Assistants also meet with the management team to review their Personal Skills Record (PSR) at 6 and 11 weeks and then again annually. To find out more information about opportunities to learn more and develop your career at Vue, talk to your General Manager or Area Manager who will be happy to talk you in more detail.
